Abundance Mindset
I’m operating from a place of abundance and when past thoughts around scarcity try to claw their way back, I address the insecurity and remind myself there isn’t just enough but abundance around me.
Abundance Mindset
Wednesday, September 7th, 2022
You’ve probably heard of abundant and scarcity mindset but what exactly is it? An abundant mindset is the perception that there is more than enough for everyone. A scarce mindset is the perception that there isn’t enough; scarcity isn’t just a mindset but a reality for many especially those in poverty struggling to afford housing and food.
I’m operating from a place of abundance and when past thoughts around scarcity try to claw their way back, I address the insecurity and remind myself there isn’t just enough but abundance around me.
Throughout the month, I’ll share areas where I’ve developed an abundant mindset from money to opportunities. There’s an abundance of money in the world, it might not be in your bank account yet but it can be! I believe in collaboration over competition. We aren’t in competition with one another as a matter of fact, when working together, we accomplish more. There’s strength in numbers.
Is there an area in your life where something feels scarce?
Collaboration Over Competition
Friday, September 16th, 2022
There’s more than enough for us to all eat.
I believe in collaboration over competition; we aren’t in competition with one another. In fact, when we unite and get multiple creative minds together, greater things are possible.
I like to celebrate others’ wins like my own. Seeing someone go after what they desire and accomplish things inspires me! It reminds me that, that too is possible for me. That my win is also coming; celebrating others’ wins is just preparation for your own. It’s okay if you feel a little envy of where someone else is, the feeling is clue that you desire that too but never allow someone else’s win to discourage you and feel like all the opportunities are being taken.
Witnessing someone break glass ceilings just means room is being made for others to follow.
Is there someone in your life that inspires you? In what way?
Next week, I’ll start a two-part series on my money mindset.
Money Mindset

I understand money is a “taboo” topic which can be triggering. Let me start by saying, I am not a financial advisor; I am simply sharing my mindset around money. If you’re looking for real financial advice, I advise consulting with someone in the field.
When I decided to leave my 9-5 job, I knew I had to gain clarity around my relationship with money and really strengthen it because I was going to be cutting myself off a consistent income. This really required me to reprogram myself. Being self-employed means your income varies from month to month and while I’m being honest, there’s been months where I made less than $500 which was a huge difference from when I was on someone else’s payroll.
Money is in a constant state of flow. Think about it, money is all around us; it’s in the bank, it’s in others’ bank accounts, it’s in register tills. Money is constantly flowing and if you want it to flow to you, you have to loosen your grip on it. It means adding to the cycle when you’re able to versus hoarding it. We’re always exchanging it for something; money is a resource after all.
What is your relationship with money? Could it benefit from some strengthening?
Pay attention to how you feel when you spend it. That’s a clue.
I also believe we’re easier to profit off of when we’re feeling insecure so don’t fall for others’ definition of success and wealth. Define it for yourself.
My relationship with money is that the universe continues to bless me with it because I do good with it. I am always provided for; I have a roof over my head, I have food on my plate and when I’m able to, I share it with others.
Next week, I’ll share how my mindset around money attracted more of it. I have some wild stories about manifesting money but this particular story is one of my favorites.
Manifesting Money
Wednesday, September 28th, 2022
Last week, I shared my mindset around money. Now, let me tell you what this mindset has attracted.
The week before Christmas in 2021, I was waved down by a man on a freeway ramp as I was about to get on the freeway. I felt called to pullover; it was daytime and I was near a busy road so it felt safe. Fight or flight immediately started to kick in as I got closer to him so I just cracked my window open. He was standing there in front of his car filled with 3 kids. He went on to tell me that he ran out of gas and anything I had would be helpful. I just so happened to have cash on me (which is rare). The man offered his gold bracelet in exchange but I handed him the $20 and told him “it’s okay, Merry Christmas.” I’m finally on the freeway and start laughing to myself. His car didn’t run out of gas! I knew I got scammed but it didn’t bother me. Instead, I came back to my relationship with money which is “the Universe blesses me with money because I do good with it.” Sure, I hadn’t even made $20 that week but this man was on the side of the road with his kids panhandling! I have a roof over my head and food on my plate; the $20 I handed him probably meant holiday gifts for his kids. So I just laughed it off and reassured myself that I am provided for. Always.
A week later, I go to drop off a commission to a client and my client had left a gift for me… which happened to be $100! Y’all! I was overwhelmed with this sense of deep connection and gratitude. That experience felt like magic. And you wouldn’t believe how many similar experiences I’ve had!
A year ago, I gained clarity on my mindset around money and have been strengthening it ever since. I come back to it and have faith in it when months are slow and thoughts of scarcity want to claw its way in. Reminding myself that I’m provided for brings me so much ease.
Abundance isn’t a dollar amount; it’s a mindset
